EXCLUSIVE: WHY MUSEVENI CANNOT LET GO OF BOBI WINE'S KIWANI OPPOSITION.

In the current internal conflicts between the original party proprietors and the Bobi Wine group, Bobi Wine had completely lost control and leadership after he was appointed as party Minister of Foreign Affairs by Moses Nkonge Kibalama,  the party founder.

Kibalama had earlier accused Bobi Wine for using NUP for his personal interests,  misallocation of funds directed to party activities giving an example of the IPOD money that wasn't accounted for and diversion from the core values and interests of the party.

An alliance between Kibalama and Mpuuga was then established since LOP wasn't directly involved in such illegal acts in the party. This is because Mpuuga’s leadership as LOP has proved his capabilities of good leadership than BobinWine.

The alliance is aimed at replacing Bobi with Mpuuga in the ongoing party conflicts as preparations for ensuring Mpuuga’s NUP representation as Presidential candidate,  a fear factor within NRM and President Museveni.  This is because Mathias Mpuuga is a man 0f ideas not mere blackmail and biased allegations.

Museveni is not ready to encounter Mpuuga’s opposition that he hasn't planned for like how Bobi Wine’s is planned. And Bobi wine has continuously fought so hard not to lose NUP leadership due to the increased benefits from Government involved.

This was proved after a group of goons were sent from the Kamwokya faction led by Bobi Wine to destroy the new party Headquarters located in Lubaga that was meant to be led by Mathias Mpuuga under Kibalama's supervision and guidance.

It is on record that Bobi Wine has always accused the Electoral Commission for working on Museveni’s orders of ensuring NUP loses but it is the same organ that is fighting hard to ensure Bobi Wine retains full control of NUP, an indication that Museveni isn't ready to lose Bobi Wine’s opposition that's considered the biggest in the country.

Of course this has not been the first indication of collaboration between Museveni and Bobi wine after efforts to replace Kiiza Besigye with Bobi Wine were put in place by several players within NRM including key figures while accusing him of working with Museveni while in FDC to extend Museveni’s rule, a role taken up by Bobi Wine.

URA clarifies the KACITA planned protest cause.

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) said 125 containers are pending clearance for taxes, dismissing the figure the spokesperson of Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) told the Saturday Vision. "The Saturday Vision on 28/08/2021 reported that 700 containers of textile/garments are stuck at URA, quoting the Spokesperson of KACITA. A figure that is far from the truth," Ian Rumanyika, the Authority's acting commissioner of public and corporate affairs, said in a Sunday statement. "We are in possession of 125 containers and so far, 9 have been cleared due to the new tax regime as pronounced by the Honorable Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development." For the current financial year, the government raised the import duty rate of garments from 25% to 35% or a charge of $3.5 for every kilogram and for textile fabrics, it was increased to 35% or $3 per kg. In an August 4 letter, Finance Minister Matia Kasaija advised that that textile fabrics and garments tha...
