A plot by the notorious city businessmen dealing in illegal fishing to blackmail and malign the UPDF marines unit using a section of city radio callers has been exposed, Yours Truly reports.

According to very reliable sources, a section of opposition perennial radio callers on local radio stations  yesterday Friday 22nd October 2021 were paid money by a renown fish dealer (Name withheld for security reason)  to soil the noble efforts made by UPDF marines in fighting against illegal fishing.

The group led by a one Mutyaba Isaac and Jimmy Sseremba were in a meeting at Already Hotel on Old Kampala at 4:00PM.

They were paid 100,00 each for an operation which is beginning on Monday 25th October 2021.

The said business tycoon is known for dealing in illegal fish on Lake Victoria.

The illegal fishing vice has in the past threatened the sustainability of fish on Lake Victoria especially Tilapia and Nile perch.

WHY EAST AFRICA NEEDS THE EACOP.

There has been recent claims on a motion of resolution by the European Parliament that calls on Uganda and Tanzania to stop the development of oil and gas projects in the East African region.  However,  Uganda and East Africa need the Oil pipeline following public reactions towards the negative motives of the European Parliament. It brings back colonial times, much as their arguments have a grain of salt, I dont think the the implementers of EACOP did not conduct Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). They (first world countries) are the biggest contributors-they are burning fossil fuels like coal which contribute heavily to climate change.  They have refused to stop their use, they should tackle that First, before they start extending their concerns to us. We need this pipeline as a region, we should just look at ensuring its...

His father was an ordinary veterinary doctor and the mother was an unlicensed teacher who stopped teaching at a young age.  David Lewis is the fourth out of five children from the mother's side and the ninth on the father's side because the father had four other children from a different mother. The Father later o...

"The Saturday Vision on 28/08/2021 reported that 700 containers of textile/garments are stuck at URA, quoting the Spokesperson of KACITA. A figure that is far from the truth," Ian Rumanyika, the Authority's acting commissioner of public and corporate affairs, said in a Sunday statement. "We are in possession of 125 containers and so far, 9 have been cleared due to the new tax regime as pronounced by the Honorable Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development." For the current financial year, the government raised the import duty rate of garments from 25% to 35% or a charge of $3.5 for every kilogram and for textile fabrics, it was increased to 35% or $3 per kg. In an August 4 letter, Finance Minister Matia Kasaija advised that that textile fabrics and garments tha...
