AMSTERDAM BASED NUP ACTIVIST COMMENDS UGANDAN SECURITY FOR PARDON AFTER HIS RELEASE FROM DETENTION

A Ugandan based in Amsterdam, NUP activist and staunch government critic, Daku Andaman aka Tata Kaliro, praised the Government of Uganda after his release from detention.

Supporters of Andaman who included Kampala Central legislator Muhammad Nsereko, anf a one Kibedi expressed gratitude to Museveni whom they described as a peace maker who does not hold grudges with his enemies.

Sources close to Daku revealed that he is being detained over allegations that he and other National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters have been using harsh online criticism against President Museveni, staged a demonstration against the government of Uganda while in Amsterdam.

Daku, according to sources, has been kept incommunicado since his arrest, after police detectives at the airport confiscated his phones, laptop and passport, claiming they are to aid their faces other charges of cyber harassment and offensive investigation.

“Museveni's main weapon has been reconciliation. He does not revenge, and his kind heart has kept this country together,” Andaman said. 

Andaman, further asked all Ugandans who are peace loving to embrace the culture of reconciliation and forgiving. He said that forgiving means that you know what someone did to you but you no longer hold them accountable.

UGANDA TO DEPLOY 160 PEACEKEEPERS TO SOMALIA

Uganda is set to send 160 Police personnel to Somalia for peacekeeping operations. According to the Uganda Police Force, the officers have finished a six-months training, and will be deployed by December under the African Union Mission in Somalia. The officers are meant to provide public order management and protection of African Union personnel and facilities. The team is part of the formed police units within the African Union, which rotates on an annual basis.
